ever since about 6-7 weeks i have woken up in the middle of the night about 90% of the time to pee. given that my biggest pregnancy symptom has been extreme tiredness, i basically have to zombie my way out of the room (good thing that i mostly broke my messy room habit at about age 30). my PT recommended not drinking water within 2 hours of going to sleep since that's about the time it takes to process liquids. so i've been doing this, and it has been getting me further into the night before i wake up, but now when i get up i am extremely dehydrated. i know now to go for the strategically placed chair in the middle of our room to brace myself for the dizziness but this morning my legs started uncontrollably shaking and almost buckled under me. i think i need to get a chamber pot.
pregnant ladies need extra water so i have two coasters set up for my 2 water bottles that i switch between while i work for maximum hydration:
i also don't know why there is a beer bottle there at my work desk but it definitely isn't mine.
we don't have an ice maker so the last 7 years at the house i have gotten used to drinking room temperature water because refilling the brita and ice trays is kind of annoying. now, i don't want water unless it's ice cold so i've been religiously filling up the ice trays and making sure i am never without those cold cubes. the 32 oz purple bottle requires about 3/4 of the ice tray while the black bottle only requires about 1/2. i like the purple bottle best because i can track how many ounces i'm drinking per day better, it's just sometimes i don't have enough cubes ready to make that one work. i'd say i'm drinking over 100 mL a day of water which is great. those who know me know that i sometimes struggle to keep up with water bottles and often lose them, so working from home is helpful since they stay firmly planted on the coasters. this is all i have to say about water right now.
